Locations and setting
In Beldace the people have only just begun the markings of productive civilization. The people are rather primitive in nature, only now developing agricultural techniques and learning to build more sturdy structures than the tents and other such primeval hovels they've dwelled in for generations. They still revere the gods that watch over them, and how could they not? As these gods walk amongst them each day.
The first established town of the young people, Kal-Duran, is located approximately two minars from the nearest shores of the sea Arounis. It is the central place of worship for the local deity, Kal'di, whom it is rumored had a great hand in the creation of this town. The rumors, as always, are inconsistant of course; some say she laid out the plans for her people, where others would swear she acted merely as a muse and inspired men to build it in honor of her. Whatever the case may be, this place marks a great acheivement for the people, and a strong move toward productivity and more advanced culture.
Nearly a minar from this town lies the beginning of the elation trail, which is well known for its main peak Mt. Keldael. No one knows who named the mountain, or when, but it is assumed that the gods themselves were responsible for this name which they passed on to the ancestors some ages ago. There is much mystery about the mountain, as it is said many shadows and treasures lie within. Those who venture forth to discover it, have reported many strange and numinous things; ranging from the dark and mysterious, to the brilliant and divine.
On one side of the trail, not far from Keldael, lies the small village of Esentri at little more than two and a half minars from the town of Kal-Duran. It is home to crafts people, and a couple of farms, though most farmers do not gather so closely together. It is a quaint and quiet village, dedicated solely to providing the people with produce and goods of value and promise. This is the place where people go when they need something of quality, and something they perhaps had not seen before. Esentri has had the most innovations of any other notable locale, with things such as a variety of containers and gardening tools.
Opposite of Esentri, on the other side of the elation trail, is the grander village of Rembel. This place is where many of the land's healers, diviners and other such workers lay their homes. Rembel is largely known for being a place for people to retire, as the practicioners here can help make their lives much more comfortable and relaxing. There are a variety of different huts holding solos, or occasionally groups of these workers to assist in the journeys of those who dwell here, or come specifically seeking more.
East of the mountains, about two minars from Rembel (further from the other locations) is the El'n Ari river. Surprisingly, not many people dwell this far out from the sea Arounis, but there are a handful who make camp at its banks. Most of the people along the river's shores can be found at its fork, almost directly east of Rembel. None know just how large the river is, but it is believed to encase the land as an island, heading straight from the north sea to the south end of the land.
Not all of the people live in villages, or the town of Kal-Duran of course. Aside from the few who dwell on the banks of the El'n Ari river, there are many families and even a couple of caravans that live and travel throughout the desert and forest regions. In these places, often the larger families--whether physically related in origin or not--will take on names for themselves, to destinguish from other camps. In this way, since they are not a part of an established village or town, they can still be recognized and found out in what would otherwise be nowhere.
