Not much is known about the White Spiral, except for their presence in __. While they have been known--or at least believed--to be active in several of the surrounding nations as well, little else can be said about them. When members thought to be of their group are captured, they deny all knowledge of the group, except for their existence. It is virtually unknown whether any of the captured parties were members, hired help, or unwittingly caught in the middle.
It is believed that the renegade outlaw John Benjamann may have some connection to the group called White Spiral, or at least that there has been some contact between them in the past. It is also believed that the recent attacks to __'s capital were somehow linked with this group. The blame for the recent relay outage is largely placed on them by local authorities. While no direct evidence has been surfaced to this end, police say that certain patterns found in the investigations lead them to believe it was a White Spiral attack.
While labeled as a terrorist group, the White Spiral actually see themselves as 'freedom fighters'. A righteous group of liberationists, fighting against the tyranny of of national and international government organizations. Their main target is the Patterngard, which they view as something of an abomination to the freedom of the individual. The fact that such an organization would exist, and that they would be sanctioned to roam the timestream freely, is something they find apalling.
There is no evidence to support the claims made by the various outlaw bands across the nations. Still, many of them are adamant that the Patterngard is abusing the power granted them. The White Spiral is one such group, commonly looked up to by other outlaw bands, in a similar fashion to the way many outlaws look up to John Benjamann for having escaped pG grasp for so long. In any case involving these secretive groups, real information is hard to come by, and most of what is heard is simply rumor. However, enough rumors and gossip have spread around to make at least the very ideas of the White Spiral and John Benjamann both very popular. They are considered as heroes to those who choose to live outside the law.
